For plastic surgery patients, understanding what to expect from your procedure can be difficult simply from a doctor’s explanation alone. And while seeing before and after photos of the procedure having been performed on other patients can give you a general idea of the expected outcome, visualizing those same results on yourself can be difficult. It is for this reason that Dr. Yang offers 3D Imaging to his patients considering most surgical procedures and even those contemplating injectable fillers. Through the use of 3D Imaging, Dr. Yang is able to reduce his patient’s uncertainty of the results a certain procedure by providing them with before and after simulations of what to expect from their specific procedure.
Using the Vectra 3D Imaging System, Dr. Yang is able to take high resolution images of the face and neck. Each image is then converted into photograph that resembles a topographical impression, which allows the Vectra system to incorporate each facial contour, wrinkle, and detail in its three dimensional image.
The Vectra 3D Imaging system also provides patients with before and after photos to simulate the results of their procedures.
This allows both Dr. Yang and the patient to manipulate the image until the desired results are achieved. The ability to preview the transformation from one’s appearance prior to surgery to after the procedure is vitally important to the patient-doctor relationship.
In addition to simulating the results of surgical procedures, the Vectra Imaging system can simulate the results of non-invasive procedures, such as those involving the use of injectable fillers. While the exact results of every patients procedure may vary slightly from the simulated image, the Vectra system is an excellent way to preview the results of a procedure and supplement your plastic surgery consultation.
For those patients who Dr. Yang deems not ready for surgical intervention, the 3D Imaging system is ideal for tracking facial aging and visualizing areas of the face that have changed. By understanding the way in which each individual patient’s face is aging, both Dr. Yang and the patient are able to devise a more individualised and appropriate treatment plan.
